We are very pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this wonderful vintage hand tinted plate print. This plate print is a depiction of the La Porte Guillaume, one of the many gates that were part of the fortifications that surrounded the city of Chartres, France. La Porte Guillaume is located just east of the Cathedral Notre Dame, the towers of which can be seen rising up into the sky in the prints background. This print has been hand tinted, and is a wonderful rendition of the gate. The print is mounted under glass, it has a double beveled matte of off white, with gray/blue accent matte. The frame is a simple silver gilt with black accent stripe. This print is signed by the artist Ch. Nollet, a French print maker who lived in the early 1900s. But I have been unable to find any biographical information about the artist. The measurements of the frame are 20 1/4 inches wide, 16 1/2 inches tall, and 1 1/16th inches deep. The matte window is 13 inches wide, by 9 1/4 inches tall. The plate print area measures 11 3/4 inches wide, by 7 3/4 inches tall. The back if the framed print is cardboard backed and sealed with tape. This framed print weighs approximately 3.75 pounds. Condition- The condition of the matted and framed print is very good. The print is in excellent condition, there are no discoloration's, fading, tears, or foxing. The frame has some very slight scuffs, but they are only noticed if closely inspected.
