Description: This auction is for a vintage "new in original box" Halcyon Days enameled box. The box does show some wear but the box itself is in mint condition. This is Aesculapius, the Greek God of Medicine. Made in England, the hand-painted round enamel box is white with a brass trim on the hinged top and is decorated with a beautiful illustration of Aesculapius on the box’s lid and quotes and the rod of Asclepius, a symbol of medicine and the medical profession around the circumference. Inside the lid is "And now if I shall fulfill l this oath ad break it not, may the fruits of life and art be mine; may I be honored of all men for all time; the opposite site if I shall transgress and be forsworn."
