Description: Unique folk art carving from 1972. In researching this I found a few stories. I guess Fred Tremain was a GI who carved these out of volcanic basalt rock while based in Vietnam. These statues are for burning incense and the front is fluorescent orange. Some say they are Budda's, others say they are not and are actually supposed to be hippies. This one is in very good condition and looks to have no been used. Signed Fred Tremain 1972 on the back. No chips or cracks. Measures 4 1/4" high x 4.5 x 4.5 and weighs just under 1 lb.
