He was inspired by the colors and textures of Oklahoma and the Southwestern United States and wanted to give people a quality experience with their tableware and pottery needs. He combined his last name with the name of the State Oklahoma to get the name Frankhoma and by the 1950’s the pottery became very popular. Even though Frankhoma Pottery is no longer in the family, people love to collect items. There is a Frankhoma Family Collector’s Association.
