Description: Tripod clawfoot powder box with celluloid lid Approximately 3" tall and 4 5/8" wideBase is made from pressed green uranium glass with a satin finish. Strong uranium glow under UV light (photo 2) on the glass.Lid is made of celluloid and features a large bouquet of flowers inside a wreath of leaves. The lid does not contain uranium but displays well under UV light along with the base (photo 2)Research indicates that the glass base was likely made by LE Smith who sold the bases on to other companies who would add the lids and sell with powderCONDITION NOTES: In fair vintage condition. The lid, which is prone to breakage, does not have any chips or cracks and the decorative paint is in very good shape. (see photo 6 and 7 for detail of lid). The base has some fleabites along the rim of the lid (photos 11 and 12) and all three tripod feet have a scuff, fleabite or small chip (photos 13-15). There is also a residue inside the base (photo 10). It may come out with some cleaning. Please inspect photos carefully for condition.This piece has been kept behind glass in a non-smoking home for many years.A unique piece that will make a splash in your glowing glass collection!
