Description: Up for sale is a vintage 1970s - 1980s Eve Kaplin Pin featuring a red enameled rabbit, blue enameled flowers and other abstract pieces riveted to a mixed metal base. Eve Kaplin started designing in the 1970s and tragically passed away in 1984 at the age of 28. Her designs feature a unique combination of mobile Modernist themes with organic influences. They are hard to come by. I could only find one record of this style of brooch on a blog in a different color scheme. Quite large. Approx 4" x 1.5". Unsigned as is common with Eve Kaplin but her style is unmistakable. As is as found condition. I made not attempt to clean it. Both rabbit and the hanging lantern piece move. Hanging lantern is marked sterling. Background open work piece has some scratching and enamel chipping. See photos. Rabbit has some finish loss, around the ears especially. Flowe has some flecks of missingnenamel, mostly around petal edges. There is enamel chipping and loss throughout the piece on most pieces with enamel. See photos. Spring holding Rabbit and twisted piece holding lantern have both darkened with agen. Lantern sides have gaps where two pieces come together to form the three dimensional shape. Pin works. Back of Pin has discoloration, wear and finish loss. Some denting and marks to solid metal backing piece. Very unique piece, really fun and thought provoking. This is a vintage pre-owned item which was worn. It has signs of age and use. Please examine photos carefully as they are part od the description. In all of my listings, I include at least one photo that shows the item next to a ruler. I strongly urge you to look at this closely to make sure you have a good feel for how big or small the item actually is. Items are packed carefully to make sure they arrive to you safely.
