Description: Vintage Daher Limited Decorative Tin Canister w/Retro Floral Fan Design 1950's. Beautiful brown background with gold overlay and "windows" of different shapes showing yellow flowers and vines. Bottom is stamped "Designed By Daher Long Island NY 11101 Container made in England." The seam of the tin is strong and in solid condition. There is some wear on the tin where it was handled and a few scratches on the outside bottom (see bottom). There are a few small rust spots on the bottom of the inside of tin. This tin was made by Daher Limited. Daher was opened in Long Island New York c. 1952 and was in production until its name changed (and the company changed hands in 1982 when the company name was changed to The Tin Box Company. All production was in England again until the change when it was changed to Hong Kong. Daher was well loved for their mid-century floral tins just like this one. They combined function and beauty in the best possible way, selling loose tea and cookie tins, make-up tins, boudoir trinkets and giftware. They are very collectible for all of the original uses but the added choices of home decor, vintage kitchen decor vibes, or drill a hole in the bottom and make it a planter.
