Description: Vintage Crystal/Chinle style Navajo rug 49.5" x 27" The artist who made this rug utilized "wavey line" and "railroad track" design elements. It appears to contain both handspun and commercial yarns. Subtle shades of green, yellow, natural gray, white, rust, orange, and black make a beautiful color combination in this classic rug. This rug has sustained some moth damage which is mostly concentrated in one corner and end band on one side (photos 11-15).This seems to be confined to the natural color banding.On the opposite side of the rug there seems to be a slightly faded streak (photo16). The side selvages and corner tassels are intact and in good shape.
