Description: This beautiful wall hanging is a vintage cross stitched tapestry that showcases the rich culture and ethnicity of Afghanistan. The intricate embroidery technique produces a stunning piece of art that will add elegance to any room. The piece was gotten in Afghanistan in 1975 and was not new then, so not sure of its actual age. The tapestry is made using exceedingly tiny cross stitched embroidery that is estimated at around 340 stitches per square inch! See detail photo with ruler. The piece measures approximately 24" high by 34" wide, with each leg of V about 26" long including fringe, and is backed with a floral print fabric. The fringe along one leg has beads at the ends. Could make into part of a tribal belly dance outfit. Everything comes from my smoke-free and perfume-free home; however tapestry has been stored and smells musty to me.
