Description: Vintage COPELAND SPODE ROSE BRIAR Covered Casserole Dish 11". Beautifully designed, shaped and hand painted. The piece has nicely sculpted sides and lid. The piece features printed then hand painted purple, pink and yellow flowers in a band. Then there is also a separate wicker textured ring on both body and lid. Spode, a high end porcelain manufacturer was founded in 1770. Today, Spode is owned by Portmeirion Group, a pottery and homewares company based in Stoke-on-Trent. Spode ceased being produced in its original factory in 2008/09 when it went under the new ownership of The Portmeirion Group. This particular Rose Briar pattern was produced from 1924 until 1971. Specifically, based on the marks on this piece, this piece was likely produced sometime between 1924 and 1954. Measures 11" inches outside handle to handle and 4.5" inches high to top of handle. The piece is in very good condition. Very nice unique serving dish!
