Description: This piece was examined and determined to be an in demand Chinese Champleve jar from around 1900. (Champlevé is an enamelling technique in the decorative arts, or an object made by that process, in which troughs or cells are carved, etched, die struck, or cast into the surface of a metal object, and filled with vitreous enamel). Similar to Cloisonne, Champleve is set apart by the troughs cast into the surface). It has a Foo Dog finial and beautiful detail work. Blue enamel used. Jar stands, without lid, 4" tall. With lid it is 5.5" to the top of Foo Dog. Both top and bottom are about 2.5" diameter. It is about 4.5" wide at widest point. No issues that I came across. Mint condition
