Description: My mom bought this at a craft show in the 1970's. A man made the hardwood display box and his wife made the ceramic deer and painted them herself. Both were excellent at their artwork. The display box is 16" x 7" x 6" tall. Open on the front and back so whatever is displayed can be seen from both sides. He included bedding for the deer that looks like Spanish moss. The underside has some scratches, not sure how that would have happened. A couple areas on the top appear to have a dull finish, but only seen if held to the light. The deer are hand painted in a dry brush style that really shows off the detail of the hair. They are not glossy, so as to appear more natural. The buck and doe are near the same size, about 4 3/4" tall by 4 1/4" long. The twin fawns are 2" and 2 1/2" long, have the typical white spots on their backs. She did an expert job of shading and blending the colors. Mom used to put a string of mini white lights inside, that really showed them off. A beautiful display, comes from a smoke free home. Will be very carefully packaged for safe shipping, thanks for looking.
