Description: EARLY LODGE MANUFACTURING CO.VINTAGE CAST IRON SKILLETSouth Pittsburg, TennesseeNo. 8 This early Lodge cast iron skillet is about 65 years old as it was made in the 1940s or 1950s. It has that fine, smooth cooking surface that is characteristic of the early American cast iron. The bottom has a full three-notched inset heat ring and is marked with an incised 6 at 12 o'clock and a raised molder's mark number 2 at 6 o'clock. f This skillet is approximately 9 5/8" in diameter over the ears, 9" diameter at rim, 7 1/2" at the base and 13 5/8" long including the handle, and is approximately 1 7/8" deep. It has a very slight wobble, but no movement, if pushed on one edge so it may not sit flat on a glass-top stove but has no issues or wobble on a gas stove. Weighs a little over 2 1/2 pounds.
