The Hindu god Vishnu, the preserver and protector, sits atop his mighty eagle, Garuda. Intricate plumage fans out from the sculpture to create a truly impressive image. Exquisitely hand carved. Garuda's wide array of plumage is exceptional with his wings outstretched and his tail feathers rising above Vishnu's head, he is slightly crouched with his hands supporting the feet of Vishnu 9 ½ inches height x 4 ½ inches width. Right arm is missing. You’d have to look carefully to see it is missing, but will significantly reduce the selling price for this. Bought personally in Bali in 1992, about 34 years ago. A quick look will see there are very few of these and are going from 300-700 US. The sculpture chooses you, you do not choose the sculpture.
