Description: Vintage Painting by Listed California Artist, Van Waldron Description and Item Information Up for sale is this beautifully executed, unframed painting on masonite board by the listed California artist, Van Waldron. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This colorful painting depicts, in an impressionist style, a harbor scene which includes cargo ships. The board measures approximately 12 inches by 16 inches. Unpacked, this piece weighs 14.4 ounces. It would be a wonderful addition to a collection of California fine art. Identification This painting is by the well-regarded California artist, Van Waldron (1936-2012). It is numbered and titled verso, "#9054 Waterfront," and it is dated 1990. There is some addition handwriting on the back in pencil, but the only word I can make out is "Harbor." Waldron is listed on askART, in Who's Who in Art, in Who's Who in America, and in Who's Who in the World. Per askART, this artist is known for landscape, seascape, and floral still life painting. Per the artist's website, Waldron was a professional painter for over four decades. He also worked as a commercial artist and art show judge. Waldron taught workshops in California and Nevada. Over the course of his career, he won over 300 national and regional awards. His paintings were exhibited in several galleries across the United States. Condition This unframed painting looks great overall as shown. There is a tiny white paint speck at the lower left corner.
