Description: C.B. Craven (1909-1991) brown glazed pitcher impressed on the bottom with “Tobacco Road” and “C.B. Craven”. The pitcher is a lovely coffee brown glaze with speckled black, cinnamon and chocolate complimenting the coffee brown. The glaze and color are in amazing condition given its approximate age. This is an amazing piece of pottery from a 7th generation potter and a great collectible item to have in your home. C.B. Craven is often referred to as the “last Craven turning” a piece of history to own in your collection. After his retirement in 1973 Mr. Craven began turning pots in his backyard in Raleigh NC. C.B. Craven often worked for shops such as Teaque’s, Tobacco Road, M.L. Owens, and Jugtown. The approximation of the pitcher is presumed to be from the 70’s to 80’s but unfortunately the piece is not dated. Dimensions: ~6.5” height ~5” width Condition: Free of chips or cracks. Bottom is also free and unglazed. The impressed marks are very clear given its vintage age. Presents very well and is in good condition. ***Please allow each photo to become clear as they take time to focus. I have pictured every side and angle of the pitcher. If interested, I have many other listings of local NC pottery as well as some from the South. Please feel free to message me about any piece. I am overly cautious on shipping as many of my reviews have stated. I take no chances on shipping pottery as they are one-of-a-kind pieces. Thank you for viewing my listing!
