This is a copy of the head from the original Napoleon As Mars The Peacekeeper statue by Antonio Canova (1757-1822) depicting Napoleon in the guise as the Roman God Mars. Sitting on solid black granite polished stand, head study is dramatic, large and starkly beautiful - believe it dates 1960s-1970s. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, staining, discoloration, tanning or damage.
