Description: This is a vintage bronze statue of a Dachshund dog sitting upright. I am uncertain as to how old this is, but I don’t think it is antique. The piece measures 12 inches tall x 4 1/2 inches wide x 5 inches long (30.5 cm, 11.4 cm, 12.7 cm). I did some preliminary research and found that Milo (of Europe) is known for doing the lost wax method of bronze casting. The detail on it is just incredible. It is signed in the back at the bottom Milo. For some reason, the finish on this is discolored all around. This ranges from lighter colors to darker colors to even what looks like light blue coloring in the back and on top. I am sensing it wasn’t fully completed, as you can pick off tiny pieces of the wax in between some of the detail in a few spots. When you are looking at the dog head on, in the bottom right corner just next to his leg, there is what seems to be some old hard glue or something. I picked off some of it, though some still remains. When you shake it, you can hear some rattling from something inside. Maybe this was excess bronze? There are some scattered scratches and other general wear to the surface. Please use the photos as your guide! It weighs 5 pounds 5 1/2 ounces (2.424 kg).
