Description: Vintage Michigan Mallardl Decoy A recent acquisition from a northern Michigan estate. Bottom is marked with 2 sets of owners initials and I believe the makers name "Peppel". The head has some nice rasp work on it. Glass eyes and retains its original keel. Keels are marked KINSEL who was the last owner of this decoy. His initials are also carved into the bottom as are another set of initials-perhaps a hunting buddy. Bio on last owner: Harry Roland Kinsel of Alpena September 29, 1925,- November 19, 2021. Harry was born on to the late Frank and Evelyn (Hepburn) Kinsel in Alpena, Michigan. Growing up in northern Michigan Harry learned to love being outdoors and all it had to offer such as hunting, fishing, gardening, and just being outside.
