Description: Authentic German Regula Black Forest Sternreiter Bird and Five Leaf Cuckoo Clock The 12" traditional 8-day Bird and Leaf Cuckoo Clock by Sternreiter is a German Black Forest clock produced in Schwarzwald, commonly known as The Black Forest. Hand carved and built by the finest skilled craftsmen in Germany. Vintage/Early-Mid Century (1930-1969). The clockâs most prominent feature is the hand-carved bird sitting atop the clock, balanced by five chiseled leaves around the clock. This clock is assembled with the utmost in attention to detail; from the clock face, to the etching and finishes, this clock is truly a one-of-a-kind. A carved wooden cuckoo bird waits behind the door to "coo". This cuckoo clock cuckoos every hour on the hour and once on the half hour. Six feet of chain will hang below the clock with two classic, pine cone shaped cast iron weights. This clock is 12 inches tall from top to bottom. This measurement does not include the height of the weights or pendulum. The mechanical brass movement is driven by two weights and time escapes with the tick of a traditional pendulum. Eight Day Cuckoo Clocks are all mechanical and the two chains need to be pulled only once per week. Dimensions: 12"H x 8"W x 6"D Weight: 10 lbs Movement: 8 day Cuckoo: On the hour and half hour Chain: 6ft length
