Description: This is a beautiful creamer, sugar bowl with lid and tea/coffee cup made in Japan between 1900 and 1911 as determined by maker's mark on the bottom of each piece. Research ascertained this company was in production between those dates and is often associated with the Morimura Bros. It is elaborately detailed and heavily accented with gold. The base, rim and handles are a muted red with heavy gold trim. The Geisha are in a garden scene with lanterns, flowers and butterflies. Not the usual geisha scene. These pieces are from the Estate Auction of a collector of Japanese porcelain. All three pieces are marked. There is also an older sticker price of $150. on the bottom of the Creamer and Sugar Bowl. The cup is a six fluted style and is 2 5/8" high and 2.5" across the rim while the base is 2" across. The sugar bowl is 4.5" high with the lid on and is 6" from outside handle edges. The creamer is 3.5" high and is 5" from spout tip to outside handle edge. These appear to have been hand thrown rather than molded as you can feel the rounds on the inside surfaces. I do not detect any chips or cracks. The only flaw I find is a tiny flea bite on the inside of the sugar bowl lid. Please Note: I try to describe all of my items as completely and accurately as possible and provide many photos for your inspection. If you have any questions please ask before purchase as all sales are considered final. All offers will be considered.
