Description: This is a wonderful and whimsical pair of vintage bakelite and wood turtle earrings. The shell, or body, of the turtle is carved wood and the turtle's shell is carved bakelite. They are charming and rare period earrings. The metal appeals to be brass/brass-toned and the closures are screw back. The earrings are unsigned and in very good vintage condition with light age-related wear to the surface, namely a bit of patination/discoloration to the metal on the back of the earrings, which is not noticeable when worn. These will bring many compliments!
