Description: For sale is one screw jack that I found in my parent's basement and, thinking it was neat, kept it for the next fifteen years in my own basement. The jack is very clean and made of cast iron, with the upper part stamped "SJ710" and the bottom stamped "SJ723" with a "6" (or 9) below it. Also on the upper tube is "NO 91", "PATD DEC 17. 1929", and the numeral "9". I know nothing about jacks, but some brief internet research showed me similar jacks with similar stamps were made by the Auto Specialties Mfg Co (Ausco) in St Joseph, MI. An earlier Ausco screw jack, patented in 1926, had a lower SJ_ number and a lower model number. So, though mine is not marked as such, I'm going to guess that it was made by Ausco, too. Not quite visible in the photos is the sheen throughout of worn olive green paint. The base of the jack measures 2.75" x 3.75", and the unopened jack is about 5.5" high. I was able to easily turn the knob with my fingers and extend the jack to its open height of about 13.5". I will post this to you via USPS Ground Advantage to the continental US only. Postage will be calculated upon purchase, ebay noting that it should cost between $5.86 - $9.80, depending on your location. Please ask questions prior to purchase. Thanks for looking.
