Description: My mom & dad - may they R I P - received this Toastmaster model 1B8 toaster as a wedding gift when they married in '39. They used it daily for years and eventually passed it down to me. I've used it frequently for 15-20 years and it still works 100%! The Smithsonian Institute has some nice historical info on this toaster and dates this model between 1938 & 1939. https://www.si.edu/object/toastmaster-model-1b8-electric-toaster%3Anmah_1056053 It's all original - Bakelite handles, fabric covered power cord and original 2-prong plug. I've taken the bottom off (very easy to do) and cleaned it inside, and cleaned and polished it outside. All of the chrome is in great shape. As an experiment, I took two slices of whole-wheat bread and, with the setting half way between "Lighter" and "Darker", toasted the bread. It took 1 minute & 20 seconds and you can see the result.
