Description: This lovely 17" x 22" lithograph print by highly-regarded Northwest artist Arne Jensen is entitled "By the Channel Marker". It shows a view of a classic house beside the Swinomish Slough a few miles north of the historic town of La Conner, Washington. The image area is 11.25" x 15.5". It was published in 1969 by The Craftsman Press of Seattle and will be shipped rolled. Arne R. Jensen (1906–1993) was born in Minnesota but was lived most of his life in Mukilteo, Washington. He studied at the Chicago Art Institute as well as the Seattle Art Institute and with noted Northwest artist Eustace Ziegler. A member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, and the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters, he began exhibiting his work in the Northwest in 1932. He had a long career in commercial art as well as becoming known as a painter of Northwest coastal scenes, particularly of the San Juan Islands. In his paintings he's concerned with texture, tone, and space. He has a unique style in that while his art is representational, it does also have some abstract qualities.
