It's made of solid ash (similar grain to oak) and retains it's original, medium-stain and finish. The table has a rectangular top with 2 curved sides and 2 straight sides. Underneath, there are 2 pedestals, each with 2 feet, connected by a stretcher in the middle. For it's size, it has plenty of aesthetic details and lots of charm. Our carpenter thoroughly inspected the piece and said that all of the joints are tight, and there are no weak spots what-so-ever. Cosmetically, the table is also in good condition. Expect nicks and scratches--typical blemishes for an old, used table--but no breaks, cracks, dents, or gouges.
