Description: This is a beautiful intricately pierced and painted Balinese fan featuring a deity in gold paint on each parchment piece. I am unsure of material of parchment. It is sturdy and possibly made of animal hide or leaves? The handle is made of a tortoiseshell color spine and U handle. I am not certain of the material but believe it to be celluloid? The fan measures 9.25 inches long. When open, the fan spans 14 inches. I am not sure if it’s provenance/history. The condition is very good with no wear noted, aside from one small portion of parchment paper that has curled a little bit on side. Please see photos.
