Description: -Vintage snack, or tidbit, bowl.-Maker is Couroc of Monterey, California, which was in business from 1958 to the early 1990s.-Diameter is 7.75 inches; height is 1.25 inches.-The centerpiece illustration evokes traditional Zuni pottery, and features deer and birds. -Made of Couroc's proprietary black phenolic resin, which was formulated to have the look and feel of classic lacquerware. -Illustrations used on Couroc pieces were inlaid by hand, and were often made from locally sourced materials.-A nice example of the Post-WWII California design aesthetic. -Condition:This bowl is in very good used, vintage condition.No chips, cracks, or scratches.The basket illustration is flawless, with strong colors.The branch (of sage?) overlaying the basket is metallic. It has lost a bit of its sheen in places.The bowl's lacquer-like black finish is still very glossy, though there are some small spots here and there that are relatively duller than the overall finish. It is superficial wear, and likely age-related. The bowl appears to have been used and stored responsibly.On the underside of the bowl, there is some minor rubbing where the bowl would sit on a table. -Bowl is clean and ready to use or display.
