Description: Absolutely stunning vintage Rialto NY box purse from the 1950s. Features a marbled pearl lucite design accented with beads, floral appliqué and jeweled rhinestones. Lucite button for closure. In excellent vintage condition. See photos for details. This handbag is in the Dooner book, Plastic Handbags…Sculpture to Wear (page 38). No maker’s label on this lucite. Measures approximately 8.25” long x 2.5” wide x 3.5” high without handle and 9” with handle. Oval in shape. The flowers are embroidered and are in Oranges and Yellows. The flowers are surrounded by white beads. It has the button closure that was a signature used by the Rialto Company called the "button" clasp, which made sense since Rialto began as a button factory many years ago.
