Description: Item: Vintage circa 1950’s black mini skirt with red lining. On the right side, it has 2 buttons and a zipper. This is a sexy little skirt that seems to pre-date miniskirt popularity in the 1960’s. I don’t know if maybe it could be called a circle skirt, but it seems to have been made for slightly naughty appeal because the label’s lettering has a devil’s pitchfork typeset in the “W”. Please see pictures. I think it must read “Romance Waltzers”, which would be the clothing line, and then “Romano”, which would be the fashion house (?). I see a number “26”, but I don’t know if that’s inches or what because it seems smaller than that... I took pictures with a yardstick so that you can determine this. It’s definitely for a more petite woman or small size. Obviously, it’s like a vampire cape look because the skirt is black with red lining. So, aside from lovers of that style (who doesn’t like their neck bit, right?!), the skirt would work for a Gothic / Goth style or even a rockabilly style. Maybe even go-go or Mod? I can find no other examples of this skirt or any info on the maker. It’s a very scarce item indeed. I think it would look good on a Japanese Samurai girl in a Quentin Tarantino movie! Or, maybe Elvira would wear it in the summertime if she ever got tired of her signature long black dress style.
