Description: h. 7-1/2 (over handle) w. 4-1/2 (over lid) Shōwa period, signed by artist. The inscription reads: Left: Ryubundo Mark - Right "In commemoration of the 1930 meeting Red Cross Fukuoka Branch" Ryubundo was a very prominent tetsubin maker from the end of the Edo period to 1958. Vintage Japanese Ryubundo Tetsubin (iron tea kettle) sand casted in the 1930s and hand crafted. Has a bronze lid, wrought iron handle , solid with no cracks, all in good condition, interior has oxidation. One has some light rust on the inside, which will be quickly remedied, should you choose to use it. Freshly cleaned and oiled. Baked in 200° oven until the oil had dried. Not technically seasoned, so an occasional oiling would be my suggestion.
