A vintage, ladies watch makes a special and unique gift for those you care about and is something she's sure to love! This listing is for a lovely, vintage, ladies 1992 Caravelle dress watch. Caravelle is owned by Bulova and therefore uses the same date codes, in this case P2, which corresponds with the year 1992. If you ar4e looking for a gift for someone born in this year, here it is! This watch is lovely and classic style of dress watch. It's in its original case, which shows it's 1992 price as S59.95, which is about the equivalent of $135 to $1.55 in today's dollars. This watch may be new. The watch case looks new and the crystal is completely clear. In the photos, it looks like there is rust on the case back, but this is actually residue left from a sticker price tag that needs cleaning off. The one thing that makes me think it was possibly worn is that some of the gold plating on the expandable band is faded. However, this band would have been electroplated, and this will fade over the years whether an item is worn or not. It's also possible the watch was just kept in its case all these years, so I am selling it as pre owned. Since the band does show some fading, I'm including a new old stock replacement band, that has been sealed inside protective packaging to prevent oxidation. I don't know how to replace watch bands, so replacing the original band with this one is up to the new owner. A jeweler can do this quickly, and often for free, or just a few bucks. The watch itself is a lovely sort of marquise/oval design, reminiscent of midcentury timepieces. It has a kind of buttery gold dial that is very pleasing to look at. There is a slight indention on the dial, near the center, that to me looks like a factory defect. It's so slight, and I only noticed after studying the watch under magnification, that it doesn't really qualify as a defect. It's just a slight, bump, I dunno, a very slight something that only shows up under magnification. I've taken lots of close up pictures, so you can see, or not see for yourself. The watch will require a new battery, which I do not have on hand at the moment. But the battery can be installed at the same time as the band is switched out, probably by the same person. If for some reason the watch doesn't work with a new battery, just let me know and we will arrange a return. In one or two of the pictures, it may look like the crystal is cracked, but it isn't. That's the reflection of a chandelier hanging from my ceiling. I rate this watch as being in excellent vintage condition. I have a number of ladies designer vintage watches for sell and soon to be listed. Collectors of gentlemen's watches might consider a lady's timepiece for their women in their lives this Christmas.
