Description: This sale is for a quantity of one four inch 1980s Rockwell International R6512 wafer. These are 6500 series microprocessors on an uncut silicon wafer as pictured. The 6502 of course was famously used in the first Apple computers and Commodore computers. This 6512 is one of many variants of the 6502 that Rockwell built throughout the 1980s. Four inch vintage wafers in good condition are hard to find these days. These are really in exceptional shape and look like they came straight from the clean room. These large feature chips would be great for a classroom microscope. Rockwell was not only the prime contractor for the Space Shuttle, but also the B1-B bomber, Apollo Command/Service modules, and other space/defense related projects. Rockwell is also highly notable in the silicon fabrication realm for the development of MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition).
