Description: ***********FOR PARTS ONLY - The ETA 2789 automatic movement does not run. And although the crown screws down once unscrewed it separates from the stem. This can be most clearly seen in pictures 16 through 18. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970's Jaquet Girard, which falls under the Zeno family of brands with watchmaking roots dating back to 1868, has under the damaged crystal a naturally and uniquely aged blue "SWISS MADE" signed dial. The lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The dark blue bezel, which shows wear and cracking, rotates smoothly bidirectionally. The heavy duty all stainless steel brushed/polished case shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ANTIMAGNETIC INCABLOC AUTOMATIC ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE WATERPROOF" with "20 ATMOSPHERES" followed by "JG" and "54-761-Q" stamped in the center. The crystal needs to be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "JUBILEE WATCH Co" and "1102" stamped ETA 2789 automatic movement does not run. The Jubilee 1102's base is the ETA 2780. And although the crown screws down once unscrewed it separates from the stem. This can be most clearly seen in pictures 16 through 18. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
