Description: Made in the 1970s by a Greek collective. Made of bronze and brass. This necklace is made in articulated segments with spikes at the center. The necklace is rather small—choker style, for a slim neck. It opens and closes at the side with a hook and eye clasp. It is rather weighty but sits on the neck comfortably. Size: Necklace measures 7” long from center back to bottom, 4 1/4” inner diameter, 14” around inside. My neck measures around 13” around and it fits me, but would not fit a much larger neck. Weighs about 94 grams, or 3.3 ounces. Marks: Unsigned but typical of this collective. Thank you to the Etsy seller VdeB whom I credit for helping identifying the maker of this piece - they have a necklace in their shop sold by the same Greek collective. The design style of this choker, specifically the articulated segmentation reminds me so much of the brutalist Jack Boyd choker pieces from the 70s - maybe he came across this Greek collective (who sold to the hippie trade) in his travels and it inspired his work.
