Vintage 1964 Fibreboard, Steel & Leather Valise Suitcase Salesman's Sample Case

Description: Coastal Gnome (https://www.ebay.com/str/coastalgnome) offers for your consideration: A Vintage 1964 Fibreboard, Steel & Leather Valise Suitcase Salesman's Sample Case measuring approximately 20.5 inches long by 14 inches tall (not including the handle) by 7 inches wide. Made by the Fibre Manufacturing Company, Inc. In NY City, this sturdy valuse has riveted fibreboard sides, with leather corners, steel feet and a steel frame around the opening on both the top and bottom of the main opening. We don't know the exact date of manufacture for this piece, but we do know the Fibre Manufacturing Company, Inc. was incorporated in 1964 in NY State and dissolved in 1993. We are guessing, based on the style and quality this was one of the company's first offerings, so we're calling it 1964 or 1965 vintage. If you have any better information on this piece, please let us know and we'll update this post as appropriate. Condition isVery Good, Used. While this case seems to have been well used, it alsonseems to have been very well made AND VERY well cared for by the previous owner(s). There are some dings and evidence of regular use, but all the issues are purely cosmetic. See the photos attached to this post for a better insight into the condition of this wonderful vintage piece.
