Description: This vintage Boy Scout patch from the 1960s features the Monterey Bay California Pico Blanco Camp, making it a unique addition to any collection. The patch is perfect for those interested in historical memorabilia and collectibles related to the Boy Scouts or fraternal organizations. It is an ideal way to show your love and support for the Boy Scouts while also adding a beautiful and unique piece to your collection. Also included is a 1961 Assistant Scoutmaster ID card from Troop 178 in Monterey California and a photo of my dad, who was the Assistant Scoutmaster, wearing his uniform at a scout meeting wearing the 178 number on his sleeve during that time. All of the Scouting items I have up for sale belonged to my dad. He was an active member and leader in the Boy Scouts of America from the late 1950s until the 1990s. While serving in the Navy for 20 years, he stayed busy in scouting while stationed in several different cities across the country and the world. He started a troop in Newfoundland Canada in the early 1960s, as well as in Saigon Vietnam when he was deployed there in 1968. He was an active leader in several troops in California, and also led troops in Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. We are in the process of cleaning out his estate and have extras of different items, so are offering them to people who collect rare Scouting collectibles.
