Description: Buy it Now: A vintage circa 1950-60's Woodpecker Ware, Wood Matchbox holder. Normally this ware had a Roostermotiff/theme however this is a stenciled Pineapple pattern. More than likely a previous owner, cleaned and updatedthe design to their liking, making it one of a kind. Definitely rustic in nature, with the characteristics of old wood & finish. Wood grain and finish vary. There is an old crack at the top -- overall has held up well. Measures about: 7" tall x 3.5" W x 3 1/4" D. Still has the original indented stamp on the back side as shown. Made in Japan, back in the day. Some use withthe slider box match sticks (NOT included due to shipping regulations). This cardboard box would have the striker pad on the sides whichmatch up with the cut outs on the wood holder. Wonderful, warm decoration as well -- or hang on the wall out of reach of little hands.
