Description: Vintage 1940s Maracas Havana Cuba Souvenirs. Hand-Carved & Painted.These vintage Havana souvenir maracas show a cruise ship on one and the old Havana Lighthouse on the other.They are made of dried calabash gourds with wood handles. The dried gourds were painted red and green, then carved to show the image. The words "HAVANA" and "CUBA" are carved into each maraca.These maracas were used by a drummer as a percussion instrument. The handles show significant wear from being drummed on the site edge of a drum.The gourds are about 2.5 inches in diameter. They are about 6-inches overall length.Very nice display pieces.
