Description: Vintage 1940s Brass Artillery Shell Trench Art Lamp on Lucite Base A very historical piece, this lamp is made of a 40mm “Bofor” artillery shell, which was used to target planes in WW2. The shell itself is inert/empty and cannot be rendered “live” so is perfectly safe (it’s a glorified piece of brass at this point)! The lettering from the round can be viewed through the colored lucite base. The lamp has been completely rewired and comes with a new, but 1950s style drum shade. One of a kind. I can’t even begin to imagine the history behind who made it and kept it in their home…
