Description: Offered here is an original, vintage, 1939 wire photo of former boxing champ James Braddock bending the ear of a reporter "at the Louis camp at Northville, Sunday". The photo is dated 9/17/39 which was a couple days before Joe Louis fought Bob Pastor at Briggs Stadium in Detroit. Two years earlier in 1937, Louis had captured the Heavyweight Crown from Braddock. As part of the agreement to fight Louis, Braddock received a part of Louis's earnings for the next ten years. This no doubt would account for him being present at Louis's training site as he prepared to fight Pastor.
