Description: Here is an old vintage ceramic or porcelain figuring. This is a small owl, the front part is painted in matte or semi-gloss finish; the back part is a high luster finish, typical of luster ware. On the back is very lightly stamped "MADE IN JAPAN", very hard to see unless held in the right way in the light. On the bottom reads MADE IN JAPAN. There is also some writing in pencil; I can make out what appears to be a date of August 28 - 37; so looks like this piece dates to the depression years as far as I can tell. Small size! Measures ~ 2 5/8" high, by 2 1/8" wide, and 1 5/8" depth. There is a slot in the back, so perhaps this item could be mounted on the wall, or sit on a display shelf. Vintage used, excellent condition!
