She Always said this was One of the Crown Jewels of her Collection You Can See the Mark of the Artist ME Ebel Clearly towards the Base of the Bell. The others on the Market Have the Same Artist Signature. I Know My Grandmother took Great Care of her Collection and I have Done the Same with this Piece. For its age the Colors are Still Pretty Vibrant and Rich as you can see from the Photos. The Bell does Ring when You Shake it. I do not know if there was another piece on the end of the mechanism that rings the bell. I do not know if the String attached came on it originally or not.
