Description: During the 1930s and 1940s, General Electric published calendars with artwork advertising the wide variety of their products. They made electrical products ranging from lightbulbs to radios to diesel electric locomotives to electric turbines for warships. This print was cut from a GE calendar and is titled "Electricity Provides Vital Power for Our Capital Ships - Whether for Convoy or Combat" by Walter L. Greene. Walter L. Greene (1870-1956) was a GE employee for 37 years, eventually heading its Art Department in 1903. He was asked to paint a series for the GE calendars, and also designed calendar backs and posters for the New York Central Lines railroad. The print measures approximately 16” x 17” in overall size and the image size is 10 13/16” x 13 1/2”. It is in good condition with excellent color. There is a scrape in the upper left corner and some minor tears and wrinkles Please use the included photos as a condition guide.
