Description: Vintage 15 Jewel Elgin Watch Gold Filled · Mechanical watch. It runs on and off. Probably needs cleaning, and I have no idea how to do that correctly. I attempted it with another watch about a year ago and made a dandy mess of things. · Width of case is 24mm. · Shows lots of wear. · 1/20 - 10K gold filled Top Caps USA · 1/40 – 10K R.G.P. Ends: · The above two lines are stamped on the ends of the Spidel strap. There is nothing on the case showing gold content. · Inside the back cover is the S/N 86442230 and “Case and Timed by Elgin National Watch Co.” surrounding “Star Watch Case Company” The "8" might be a 3, see photo. · On the back of the movement is Elgin 544 - U-S-A 15 Jewels and the movement serial number X853581 Based on the serial number, two sites told it it was made in 1941.
