Description: This beautifully carved true black Bakelite bracelet is 1" wide and weighs 35 grams. It has the normal inside diameter of 2.5" The bracelet has been decorated with a deep vine inspired carving that circles the outside of the bracelet. Small rhinestones have been added to the carving as a cool design effect to add some bling to this Art Deco Era beauty! This Vintage Bakelite bracelet is in excellent condition and its authenticity was confirmed using the hot water test. Testing using Simichrome polish on true black Bakelite often yields inconclusive results. (See photo #10) When that occurs, (as it did here) I resort to the default hot water test. After dipping the bracelet into hot water for a couple of seconds, the bracelet gave off the unmistakable chemical odor associated with genuine Bakelite. No chips or cracks were noted. A couple of the rhinestones have darkened due to their age. All rhinestones are present and appear to be original to the piece.
