Description: I have a highly unusual Victorian era trap, circa 1900, recently acquired from a multi-generational north Long Island estate. Although the previous owner mentioned he thought his grandfather used it for catching eels, as he was a fisherman and had a quite extensive collection of eel, fish, and frog spears. These traps are uncommon and commonly referred attributed to humane trapping of rodents such as rats, as mice could easily escape through the 1/2” wire caging. The trap Measures approximately 16" x 9” The device is made of iron wire and sheet metal with overall surface rust. Doors and latches appear to be functional.Would be an excellent stage prop or a great addition to a trap collection or primitive display. Please see photos and feel free to ask questions.Thank you!FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS WILL PAY ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING BASED ON LOCATION.
