Description: This 91 page hardcover book was written by Mildred Seeley, a well recognized collector in the antique doll community. In Victorian Doll Secrets, Ms Seeley uncovers the undergarment “secrets” hidden by the original costumes of 19th century French and German dolls. “Secrets” disclosed in the book will prove helpful in recostuming old dolls and in aiding reproduction doll makers in deciding what goes where, how it should look and what materials to use. The book’s rich text is supported by 100s of full color photos. The book itself appears never to have been opened or, at the minimum, used sparingly. Unfortunately, the dust cover has had a rough life. There is a 4.5” tear along the upper right edge of the front cover and a .75” tear along the upper front spine. Both of these tears run in from the top edge. They have been repaired with archival tape as well as cellphone tape by a previous owner. Both issues may be seen in the first photo. The remainder of the dust cover is in very good condition.
