Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE VICTORIAN ANTIQUE WEBB BURMESE RUFFLED RIM & FOOT VASE ART GLASS HAND PAINTEDA beautiful Victorian antique art glass miniature vase, or a piece that would even work as a part of a toothpick holder collection The inside depth is only about ½” shorter than one of my known Webb toothpick holders. It was made by the firm of Thomas Webb and Sons in England after 1886. The glass is known as “Burmese” for its lovely and distinctive peach to cream shading of colors and its matte finish, and it glows an intense whitish-yellow color under a blacklight. This one is decorated with a very attractive 100% hand painted design, of what appear to me to be grapes and grape leaves. As you can see from my photos, the vase has a lovely crimped and ruffled top rim and a very attractive applied “pie crust” foot. Just gorgeous. It has a concave ground and polished pontil mark on the underside. It has been part of my personal collection since the year 1998. This is an exceptionally well made and decorated piece and is a very high-quality piece of art glass. The piece in my photos is the actual piece you will receive. Sisk, I see a similarly shaped vase, with no decoration, pictured on page 71.I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
