Collagraphy (sometimes spelled collography) is a printmaking process in which materials are glued or sealed to a rigid substrate (such as paperboard or wood) to create a plate. Once inked, the plate becomes a tool for imprinting the design onto paper or another medium. The resulting print is termed a collagraph. According to Jenny's website; her work is rooted in the landscape, but absorbed sensory information and topographical detail serve only as a starting point for each piece. As each work unfolds and the constantly reworked and changing surface becomes more complex, the concern is formal resolution of the image whilst retaining it’s painterly qualities and the sense of place. Attention is focused on structure, tension, expression and mark making - and in juxtapositions of colour, which is of huge importance, and how it describes space and reflects mood.
